DAY 5: Activity 1 The social Network

For this activity, please think about what you have learned in class about being cybersmart.On your blog provide five rules that people should follow when sharing pictures and/or streaming videos online.

The Social Network

The first thing that people should follow when they are sharing pictures and stuff would be to never video or take a photo of a place that makes you look obvious of where you are. The second thing that you should follow when you are online taking photos or streaming is you should make sure not to share personal information. The third thing that people should follow when online should be to never go online at night. The fourth thing that people should follow when online should be to never click on links that people share to you if you post videos online or photos on social media. The fifth and last thing that people should follow when online is they should never be on their technology for more than 2 hours just posting.

Activity 3:Mass Migration

For this activity, let’s imagine that Donald Trump called you up and asked for your opinion on this controversial issue.

On your blog, please tell us what you think about his plan to build a wall between the USA and Mexico. Is it a good idea or a bad idea? Why do you think so?

Mass Migration

I think that it is a bad idea that building a wall between USA and Mexico should be done because everyone should be treating each other equally even if they are different. Also I would like to state why this is a bad idea is because people from Mexico need a better job and money to pay for their children's food and also school. I just think it is a bad idea because what did they do to the USA to deserve this disrespect.

Activity 2: Fighting for Freedom

For this activity, please think about an issue you would protest over (non-violently, of course!).On your blog, explain the issue clearly and tell us why it is so important to you.If it was me, I would consider non-violently protesting over the lack of diversity in my local council and health board. I think there should be people from different ethnicities, different jobs, and different ages who represent the city that I live in.

Fighting for Freedom

An issue I would protest over would be rubbish being littered on the ground because it goes through the oceans where the fishes can stop breathing when there is plastic bags going in there home/Ocean. And the people who are doing this would mostly be the people who are lazy and don't know what a rubbish bin is. where it happens would be around lakes,rivers and also beaches.

Day 4:Activity 1 Leading the Charge

For this activity, let’s imagine that, like Helen, you are hired to lead an organisation. In this case, you are hired to be the principal of your school for one week. How exciting?! What changes would you introduce? Would you make the school day longer? Would you introduce daily trips to the swimming pool?

On your blog, list five changes that you would make to your school if you were hired to be the principal for one week.

Leading the Charge

If I was to ever be the principle for a week for glen Taylor school the first thing that I would do would be getting more furniture for all classes. The second thing I would do would be making more trips including learning and also more sports. The third thing I would do would be making the school include everything the school students need not want. My fourth thing I would do would be bringing back the lunch shop that we use to have for kids to buy lunch if needed. The fifth and last thing I would do would be letting the kids have an early break of school during the terms.

Activity 3: The Columbian Exchange

My parents have had a positive impact in my life because they always put a smile on my face and they also teach the things that I do wrong sometimes. My parents are also motivated to do something and get it done in the right amount of time and they also show me what family is all about.

Activity 1: The Rainman of Rajasthan

What I learned is that people in Africa,India and so on are dying from there being unhealthy water.Also what I learnt was girls are dropping out of school during puberty because of unhealthy water. The goal of this Water Project is to help the people of Africa and other places in the world who need clean and safe water.

Equal pay for Equal Work

My opinion on the pay gap between men and ladies is I think that they should both get paid the same amount because it just makes it look like somebody is being sexist or something like. Also because the women's rugby team should be appreciated more of their success in their games. Another reason being would be that they both pretty much play in the same team but just different genders so the ladies and mens should be paid the same amount for that simple reason.

My Experiment Report

How to Make a Fire Snake from Sugar & Baking SodaThe purpose of the experiment is to try new things that we haven't done and also because it would be fun.The Materials Needed:SugarSandBaking SodaLighterZippo lighter FluidProcedure:The first thing you would need to do to begin the experiment would be to add your sand to a bowl then what you would want to do is soak the sand with the Lighter fluid.
Next thing you would want to do is you would want to Mix the baking soda and the sugar you have provided together and then pile it onto the soaked sand surface.

Lastly, what you would need to do is you want to grab your lighter (long one) and you would want to burn the stuff in the bowl but be careful and at all times have water next to it just in case the fire gets dangerous.

Hypothesis:

What happens when you ignite the stuff you have in the bowl is it will start spewing out burnt stuff and would form into a snake until its run out.

Conclusion:

My findings of this is The materials and time it takes to make is really easy but also dangerous for a kid to do on its own.

Science Tasks

Butter science

On a school day the class did a butter project on how you can make butter.
And my findings that I found out was raw milk can cause you a sore stomach and also that milk can come from plants. Me and my group made butter and also tested it on bread.

Culture Festival Paractise

In Glen Taylor School we have been practicing and having fun and being determined in dancing for Culture Festival. When It was time to practice everyone would go to their cultural groups to practice which I thought was kinda a fun day when we would go and practice because I get to take a break from learning and also gets me to have a lot of fun. Today was the last day for us to practice but it was on the stage instead of in classes but what the school did was let the cultural groups go one by one because the Culture Festival is tomorrow and when I heard that It was tomorrow I felt like I was really scared.

Goal setting

On goal setting day in the morning I was finishing off my Goal setting doc and when school finished I went home and stayed at home because My mum already knew my stats in learning

When it is Tech day Glen Taylor goes to Tamaki college and then they go to their tech classes when everybody in the seniors are there.When we have Tech I go to Mr grundys class and I do wood works and right now it is really fun sometimes.

Ki ora , My Name is Cyrus Halamamao Davis and about myself is I like Being in the new intermediate class that I am in now as a leader but as a year 8 not a year 7 In Glen Taylor School. My culture is Niuean Maori and Tokelau. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother but can’t forget my 2 parents.About my learning in this years learning is I am better then How I was last year.Everybody That knows me well will know that I am very good at Softball/Pitching (Maybe).This year what I enjoy is doing maths and writing.My challenges are becoming a stage 8 maths learner.What are my goals for this year? Well it is to stay on task and be a better leader than what I was as a year 7.This year what I am looking forward to is Camp in term 2.My personal achievements are being better in maths and also being able to get a trophy on prize giving at the end of the year.My role models are my Parents.

Softball tournament

On Wednesday 6th of March Glen Taylor School went to Dunkirk to have a Softball Tournament. When we had our first game we started on batting first and when the first batter got up which was me I Kept My eye on the ball but then I had to walk because of how the Pitcher was throwing Bad pitches (not to be offensive). During our first game, we were having fun and we were also having the lead on points and after the game finished we have had won the first game. We had our second game and batted first again and after we finished batting we went on to the field and then I got the people out that were batting and also Glen Taylor school. I was having so much fun until Ellerslie versed us and had a very bad Ump and you know what my dad did? he told him what are you doing and do you know what you are doing and then the Ump said yes I've had 20 years experience but when really it looked like his first game of umping but besides that we were supposed to come 2nd or first but then we were told to go and fight for either 8th place or 7th. We may have lost and come eighth but then that was because we got ripped off the boys. But then they apologized and said yeah we are sorry and it was a big mistake we ut you guys last and the Ump for Ellerslie was really bad. Softball By Cyrus Sorry if this is too long.

Fun Run

On the day of the fun run we went to Mission Bay in a bus and when we got there we waited for our turn and when it was our turn we were ready.When we started running to st Heleirs (I cant spell)we started jogging until we got to the end,and when we got to the sand of st Heleirs we started slowing down because of the sand and then David tripped and I just kept running and ran to the finish line. And after I had my drink of water I waited for us to go back to school.The fun run was fun
